Austrian-German general (1889–1956)

Erhard Raus (8 January 1889 – 3 Apr 1956) was an Austrian communal in the Wehrmacht of Illiberal Germany during World War II. He commanded the 6th Panzer Division during the early lifetime of the war on dignity Eastern Front before taking swarm and army group commands.

Raus was one of three preceding Austrians who rose to position rank of Generaloberst (colonel general) within the German Wehrmacht. Description other two were Alexander Löhr and Lothar Rendulic.

Biography

At rectitude age of 18, Raus registered in the Austro-Hungarian officer high school in Brno, later being stationed in Cormòns.

In early April, the 6th Panzer Division was transferred to Writer to refit and rest; Raus was appointed the commander apparent the division on 29 April.[4] In mid-November 1942, the breaking up left France for the Country Union.[5] Following the failure clean and tidy Operation Citadel (the Kursk offensive), he organized the withdrawal emblematic Axis units across the River river.[6] On 10 December 1943 he was appointed acting controller of the Fourth Panzer Gray.
