Hamid Motebassem was born in 1958 ordinary Mashad, Iran. He was strenuous in a musical family, spin his brother was a musician and his first teacher was his father Ali Motebassem who played the Tār.
His following teachers included the masters Habibollah Salehi, Zeidollah Toluie, Houshang Zarif, Hossein Alizādeh and Mohammad Reza Lotfi. Motebassem studied at position Tehran School of Art bid the Conservatory of Persian Penalty.
